Many software\/library packages are updated and new ones are appearing on a daily basis, but analysts tend to be constrained to what one knows already and omit the use of new components. They are too busy. We hope that this school will become a good chance for analysts to be exposed to the latest scene in the bioimage analysis, of various workflows and workflow components, to widen their scope and broaden their skills.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The school program is largely renovated from last year, based on the feedback of participants. Discussion results are summarized and will be reported to the NEUBIAS community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In <strong>Implementation<\/strong>, participants are split into several groups and implement either modification of introduced workflow or do benchmarking comparing components of those workflows.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">There will be no helpers during all sessions. We do not teach coding, but intensively\u00a0do coding using several different languages. of Science and Informatics at the University of Szeged. Its main task is to teach modern computer science and information technology and to take part in innovative and research-and-development projects. The Institute offers BSc, MSc and teacher training programs and also provides basic education of informatics at several other programs of the Faculty of Science and Informatics at the University of Szeged.<\/p>\n<p>Students have the chance to travel, work or do research abroad, to study one or two semesters at foreign universities, and are also welcome to join the research projects going on at the Institute.<\/p>\n<p>MSc graduates interested in research can join one of the many exciting research projects of our PhD School of Informatics, established in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>Besides performing educational tasks, the Institute implements research-and-development and innovative projects with institutional and industrial partners.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute publishes an English language journal, Acta Cybernetica (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inf.u-szeged.hu\/kutatas\/acta-cybernetica\">https:\/\/www.inf.u-szeged.hu\/kutatas\/acta-cybernetica<\/a>), which is an important forum and output of research activity and PhD training.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inf.u-szeged.hu\/en\">https:\/\/www.inf.u-szeged.hu\/en<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Hotels &amp; Local Transport<\/h3>\n<p>For participants of TS6 rooms have been pre-booked in Hotels Tisza and Art (<a href=\"https:\/\/eubias.org\/NEUBIAS\/neubias2020-conference\/szeged-hungary-2018\/szeged2018_venueorganization\/\">more information on the Symposium page<\/a>). Both hotels are reasonably priced and close to the venue. When students learn about the selection results (Nov 15th), they should contact the hotel of choice directly, mention code &#8220;NEUBIAS2018&#8221; and confirm reservation dates and billing information (check page above for details about payment process and deadlines).<\/p>\n<p>Hotel Tisza and Hotel Art are both within walking distance (10 minutes and 4 minutes) from the Training Schools\u2019 venue. From Hotel Tisza you can also take the tram (line 1 or 2) for 2 stops to the TS venue (from Sz\u00e9chenyi t\u00e9r to Aradi v\u00e9rtan\u00fak tere).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Travel Grants<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>NEUBIAS will offer\u00a0<strong>competitive Travel Grants to a number of the Trainees applicants\u00a0<\/strong>affiliated to institutions in COST member countries or Near-Neighbour Countries or approved European RTD Organisations (check definitions in COST Vademecum\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cost.eu\/Vademecum\">here<\/a>). Please checkthe application form how to apply for those grants by filling the additional fields enabling to submit a justification. The grants are supported by COST (funding body of the NEUBIAS Action). Eligibility and reimbursement modalities will follow the criteria\/general COST policies (check the Vademecum\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cost.eu\/Vademecum\">here<\/a>). Granted trainees will be notified November 16th, and grants\u00a0<strong>will be executed ONLY after\u00a0the Training School (daily signature on attendance sheets compulsory for grant winners<\/strong>).\u00a0The grants are attributed\u00a0<strong>at a fixed rate of 650\u20ac<\/strong>\u00a0to cover for travel and accommodation expenses.<\/p>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n<h2><span id=\"Selection_Criteria_for_all_including_granted_Trainees\">\u00a0<strong>Selection Criteria (for all, including granted Trainees):<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Trainees will be selected strictly on the basis of their scientific motivations, as described in their motivation letter.
