{"id":4525,"date":"2018-03-13T00:04:35","date_gmt":"2018-03-12T23:04:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eubias.org\/NEUBIAS\/?p=4525"},"modified":"2018-08-29T16:47:54","modified_gmt":"2018-08-29T15:47:54","slug":"image-analysis-expert-microscopy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eubias.org\/NEUBIAS\/image-analysis-expert-microscopy\/","title":{"rendered":"Image Analysis Expert for Microscopy"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"titel\">Image Analysis Expert for Microscopy<\/h2>\n<dl>\n<dd><\/dd>\n<dd>Together with the Scientific IT Support (<a href=\"http:\/\/scits.unibe.ch\">scits.unibe.ch<\/a>) of the Faculty of Science, the<br \/>\nMicroscopy Imaging Center (<a href=\"http:\/\/mic.unibe.ch\">mic.unibe.ch<\/a>) of the University of Bern opens a<br \/>\nposition for an<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p class=\"titel\"><strong>Image Analysis Expert for Microscopy (80-100%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"subtitle\"><\/div>\n<dl>\n<dt><a id=\"open_close_button\" class=\"closed\" href=\"https:\/\/firmenwhitelabel.publisherconnect.ch\/firmenwhitelabel\/addetail\/job\/index.htm?adId=10386106&amp;locale=en#\"><\/a><\/dt>\n<dd><strong>Tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Optimise and deploy image and data analysis pipelines for current and new instruments at the Microscopy Imaging Center (MIC)<\/li>\n<li>Support MIC users with image processing and analysis challenges<\/li>\n<li>Support design of IT infrastructure (hardware and software) for new MIC instruments<\/li>\n<li>Organise and implement MIC trainings on image processing, IT infrastructure usage and application software<\/li>\n<li>Participate in MIC related research and development projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl>\n<dt><a id=\"open_close_button\" class=\"closed\" href=\"https:\/\/firmenwhitelabel.publisherconnect.ch\/firmenwhitelabel\/addetail\/job\/index.htm?adId=10386106&amp;locale=en#\"><\/a><\/dt>\n<dd><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PhD or equivalent in relevant discipline (bioinformatics, bioimaging, biomedical\u00a0engineering, computer science, physics, applied mathematics biology etc)<\/li>\n<li>Recognised experience in applying and\/or developing image analysis tools with Fiji\/ImageJ, Icy, Imaris, CellProfiler, MATLAB, Java or Python<\/li>\n<li>Outstanding programming and data analysis skills (Python\/R, C\/C++, GPGPU, deep neural networks)<\/li>\n<li>Microscopy\/bioimaging experience and familiarity with biological data is an asset, interest in this field is pre-requisite<\/li>\n<li>Experience with real-time systems and system administration is an asset<\/li>\n<li>Strong team player with service-oriented work style and excellent English communication skills (German is an asset)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<dl>\n<dt><a id=\"open_close_button\" class=\"closed\" href=\"https:\/\/firmenwhitelabel.publisherconnect.ch\/firmenwhitelabel\/addetail\/job\/index.htm?adId=10386106&amp;locale=en#\"><\/a><\/dt>\n<dd><strong>Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Salary according to qualifications and cantonal regulations<\/li>\n<li>Begin 2018-05-01 or by agreement<\/li>\n<li>Two years with possible extension<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Microscopy Imaging Center at the University of Bern (MIC) is the\u00a0interdepartmental platform for high-end microscopy. MIC provides access to state-ofthe-art imaging techniques for researchers from 12 institutes of 3 departments of the\u00a0University of Bern as well as for external visitors. It collaborates closely with the\u00a0Science IT Support (ScITS) unit from the Faculty of Science. The successful\u00a0candidate will be embedded in the ScITS team which maintains university-wide,\u00a0national and international knowledge networks and is associated with the\u00a0Mathematical Institute. The ScITS working atmosphere is academic, responsive and\u00a0cooperative. The office location is next to the Bern central railway station.
